Chairman
Keith Falconer
Keith was appointed Chairman of Impax Group plc in January 2004.
After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1979, he joined
Martin Currie, the independent Edinburgh-based investment firm. The
first part of his career was spent managing portfolios on behalf of
institutional clients. Subsequently, he devoted his time to
marketing and sales and his final role was as Managing Director of
Sales and Marketing. He retired from Martin Currie at the end of
2003 but remains a Non-Executive Director of a number of other
companies, most of which are investment companies or funds.
Chief Executive
Ian Simm
Ian joined Impax in 1996 and has been a board director since 1997.
Initially working as corporate finance adviser in the waste and
power sectors, he established Impax Asset Management (IAM) in 1998.
Since then, he has been responsible for building the business,
particularly the development of the firm’s long-only, venture
capital and infrastructure teams and investment products. In
addition to his role as Chief Executive, Ian heads the
firm’s investment committees, and he has substantial
day-to-day exposure to the process of investments. Prior to Impax,
he was a project manager at McKinsey & Company in the
Netherlands where he led teams to provide advice to clients in a
range of environmentally sensitive industries. He has a first class
honours degree in physics from Cambridge and a Master's in Public
Administration from Harvard.
Non-Executive Director
Guy De Froment
Guy de Froment was appointed Non-Executive Board member in
January 2008. Currently Vice Chairman of BNP Paribas Asset
Management he was previously responsible for Sales and Marketing
for BNPP AM, as Co-CEO. From 1997 to 1999, he held the
position of Chairman and CEO of Paribas Asset Management. Prior to
that he worked for Barclays as Head of Continental European Asset
Management, having previously spent 23 years in the Indosuez Group
during which time he was Chief Executive of W. I. Carr and CEO of
Indosuez Asset Management. Guy is a graduate of the Ecole des
Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC Paris).
Non-Executive Director
Peter Gibbs
Peter has a wealth of financial services experience in the Asset
Management sector. Having begun his career at Brown Shipley, he
joined Bankers Trust in 1985 as a Senior Portfolio Manager. In 1989
he joined Mercury Asset Management (MAM) where he rose to become
Head of the International Equities Division. Following the
acquisition of MAM by Merrill Lynch, he was appointed co-Head of
Equity Assets worldwide. In 2003 he became Chief Investment Officer
and Head of Region for Merrill Lynch’s Investment Management
activities outside the US. Peter was a Non-Executive Director of
Bridgewell Group PLC between June 2006 and August 2007. This
followed his early retirement from Merrill Lynch in November 2005.
He is a Director of the Evolution Group plc.
Non-Executive Director
David Kempton
David joined the board as a Non-Executive Director on 3 June 2004.
An engineer by training, he was commercial director of Chamberlain
Industries plc. In 1976 he established Kemray Engineering in the
UK, purchased by Taskforce Group plc which itself was acquired by
Adia (Switzerland) where he remained a director until 1989. He
formed a private investment company, Kempton Holdings, and acquired
a 50% holding in ESL a medical instrumentation company, which was
acquired by GE in 1999. Previously a director of Merseyside and
Cheshire NHS Ambulance Trust, he is on the board of Hartest
Holdings plc, Second Advance Value Realisation Company Limited and
a number of private companies. David is a member of both Audit and
Remuneration Committees.
Non-Executive Director
Mark White

Mark joined the board as a Non-Executive Director in January 2008.
He has extensive experience in the investment management business,
with 13 years in Asia. He joined Robert Fleming as a research
analyst in 1976 and worked for Rowe Price Fleming in Baltimore and
London. From 2001-2005, he was CEO of JPMorgan Fleming Asset
Management (UK) Ltd and was responsible for JPMFAM’s
institutional businesses internationally. He was previously CEO of
Jardine Fleming Asset Management in Hong Kong and CEO of Chase
Fleming Asset Management (UK) Ltd in London. He is a past Chairman
of the Hong Kong Investment Funds Association and the HK SFC
Advisory Committee on Unit Trusts. He also acted as the fund
manager of Fleming Universal Investment Trust before being
appointed to the board of Jardine Fleming Holdings Ltd in Hong Kong
in 1985. In 1993 he was Investment Director of Save & Prosper
Group Ltd and the Fleming Flagship Funds in Luxembourg. He joined
the board of KGR Capital (Europe) Ltd in 2005 becoming CEO in 2006.
He is also a Non-Executive Director of Ellis Brady Absolute Return
Fund and F&C Global Smaller Companies PLC.
Listed Equity Funds
Director of Investments
Bruce Jenkyn-Jones
Bruce joined IAM in 1999, where he worked initially on venture
capital investments before developing the listed equity business.
His principal responsibility at Impax is to co-manage Impax
Environmental Markets plc, Impax Environmental Markets (Ireland)
Fund, the IFSL Impax Environmental Leaders Fund, as well as
Impax’s white label funds. Before joining Impax, Bruce worked
as a utilities analyst at Bankers Trust and as an environmental
consultant for Environmental Resources Management (ERM). Bruce has
an MBA from IESE ( Barcelona ), an MSc in Environmental Technology
from Imperial College and a degree in chemistry.

Lee Clements
Lee joined Impax having previously worked in environmental
venture capital at both Nomura and WHEB Ventures, investing across
multiple renewable and clean technology sectors and geographies.
Prior to moving into the environmental markets he worked in
corporate strategy at Lehman Brothers helping to develop their
strategic growth plans in Europe. Since joining Impax in June 2008
Lee has taken a lead role in research coverage of IAM’s
listed equity universe for the pure-play, all-cap and absolute
return strategies. He has a BSc in Physics from Imperial
College.

Jon Forster
Jon has many years of investment experience working with private
and quoted companies. Following his graduation from Leeds
University in Management Studies, he spent four years working on
acquisitions at HSBC Investment Bank. Subsequently, he spent two
years as a consultant to venture capital investor Alchemy Partners
with particular focus on manufacturing and resource management
companies. Since August 2000, he has been employed at IAM, where he
has taken a lead role in the PVMTI investment fund and subsequently
as an investment analyst involved in research for Impax’
listed equity investments.

Simon Gottelier
Simon joined Impax from Veolia (formerly Vivendi) Environment,
where he was a Business Analyst in the finance department. His
responsibilities included the analysis and modeling of potential
investments and financing issues on the part of the Group's water
businesses. Simon began his career in Investment Banking in 1998 at
NM Rothschild and subsequently moved to Deutsche Bank where he
provided strategic, M&A and financing advice to European and US
clients across a broad range of industrial sub-sectors. Simon is
currently involved in portfolio and sector research for Impax
Environmental Markets. He has an honours degree in Modern Languages
from the University of Bristol.

Director of Investments
Hubert Aarts
Hubert joined Impax in January 2007 as portfolio manager of the
Impax Absolute Return Fund. He started his career in 1990 in the
Investment Industry. He has extensive experience investing in
Pan-European equities as a portfolio manager at MeesPierson and
Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, where he chaired the European
Sector Strategy Group. He joined Impax from Cambrian Capital
Partners LLP where he was a partner and portfolio manager of the
Curalium fund, and Incremental and Incremental Leveraged funds.
Hubert has a Master's Degree in Economics and Business
Administration from Maastricht University.

Director of Investments
Peter Rossbach

Peter has extensive investment, regulatory and development
experience in the utility and energy sector. Prior to joining
Impax in 2003, he was SIO at AMI Asset Management, a private equity
infrastructure fund investing equity, mezzanine and subordinated
debt in the utility, renewables and telecoms sectors. From 1994 -
1997 he was at the EBRD focused on energy, utility and telecoms
investments in Eastern Europe. Prior to that, he worked in
the Project Finance team at Mitsui Bank making loans to
cogeneration and renewables sector projects including the Tehachapi
wind project in 1989. From 1986 to 1989 he was a developer and
advisor to over 1GW of cogeneration, waste-to-energy and renewable
energy projects built in the US. Peter began his career at
the US Department of Energy renewables division in 1980, as a staff
member in the US Senate in 1981-1982, and thereafter with a
California gas utility and Oklahoma gas producer. He received
his credit training from Standard & Poor's in 1985-1986 and is
a graduate of Harvard College and the Kennedy School at Harvard
University. At Impax, Peter leads the Private Equity /
Infrastructure team and has advised clients such as Nordex and the
European Commission.

David Trafford-Roberts
David Trafford-Roberts joined Impax in February 2007. Previously
Head of Project Finance at IXIS Corporate & Investment bank, he
has over twelve years experience as an adviser or funder to limited
recourse structures. He acted as adviser and arranger of the North
East Lincolnshire energy from waste project in 2006. He was
investment officer to the Asian Mezzanine Infrastructure Fund based
in Singapore between 1997 and 2000 where he arranged the mezzanine
funding for the Theun Hinboun hydropower project. Previously he
worked in the successful private equity team which is now Doughty
Hanson. He is bilingual in French and English and holds a BSc in
Engineering from Reading University.

Joe Berry
Joe joined Impax in 2002 and works for the New Energy Investors
Fund, where he has led a number of investments in the solar and
wind sectors. Prior to this Joe worked in Impax’s
transaction advisory business, including work on the project
financing of the £150m Allington energy from waste facility,
and advising on the Crown Estate’s selection of the UK Round
2 offshore wind lessees. Joe began his career at Ernst &
Young’s International Banking and Capital markets Group where
he trained and qualified as a chartered accountant, before moving
to E&Y’s Renewable Energy and Waste Corporate Finance
Group. Joe graduated in Engineering Science at Pembroke
College, Oxford University.

Ryan Cameron
Ryan joined Impax in Jan. 2006 and is a key player in sourcing,
analyzing, and executing investment opportunities for our first
infrastructure fund, the Impax New Energy Investors LP/SCA.
Ryan began his career at Goldman Sachs in the Fixed Income
Department. He joined Investec’s Graduate Training
Program in 2001. Upon completion of this program, he worked
in the bank’s Infrastructure Advisory Group and was involved
in raising senior bank / bond debt for sponsors and evaluated
principal mezzanine debt opportunities in the renewable energy
sector. In his role, he also advised on structuring
transactions with equity and sub-debt investments ranging in size
from £40m to £1bn. Ryan has a BA in Economics and
Political Science from McGill University.

Nigel Taunt
Nigel joined Impax in 2001 and has extensive experience in M&A
and fund raising since qualifying as a chartered accountant in
1977. After seven years at BOC he was Finance Director for Christie
Group. Between 1992 and 1998 he was Finance Director of Yorkshire
Environmental, owned by Kelda Group plc, where he played a leading
role in the ten-fold growth of that business to £100 million
turnover. There he managed a large number of acquisitions and
divestments in waste management, water treatment, renewable energy
and environmental laboratories. His responsibilities at Kelda also
included directorships at Yorkshire Windpower, during the
successful development of the Royd Moor and Ovenden Moor wind
farms, Esmil Water Treatment and Babcock Water Engineering.

Jonathan Fogg
Jonathan has worked in the venture capital and private equity
sector since 1985 and brings many years of experience to Impax
Asset Management. Most recently he was Equity Fund Manager with
Finance Wales Investments Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the
Welsh Development Agency (WDA) that provides funding for
Welsh-based small and medium sized enterprises. His achievements
include the establishment of an investment team of ten from a
standing start, developing a Syndicate partners programme and
raising a further £10m fund.
Prior to that, he was Investment Manager with Corus subsidiary UK
Steel Enterprises Ltd, where he completed sixty investments in a
five year period and managed a portfolio of thirty four companies.
Originally trained as an accountant, Jonathan has also worked for
the Audit Commission, BDO Binder Hamlyn and Ernst and Young.

Finance Director
Jacqueline Brown
Jacqueline joined Impax in June 2005 as Finance Director,
Compliance Office and Group Company Secretary. She has spent the
past eight years at FD level within financial services including
roles at Marathon Asset Management and Alliance Capital. She
qualified as an ACA in 1989 with BDO Stoy Hayward, and subsequently
moved into media spending time as Financial Controller of
Associated Press Television and interim FD of RDF Media. Jacqueline
holds a BSc in Biochemistry from UMIST.

Marketing Director
Sophie Huang, CFA
Sophie joins Impax with extensive experience in the finance
industry. Most recently, she was at a London family office
selecting single hedge funds for its bespoke portfolios. Sophie
began her career as an M&A analyst at Bankers Trust. After
graduate studies, she became an Economist covering the Asian
markets at Lehman Brothers and Credit Suisse. She joined UBS as a
risk analyst before becoming a product specialist for its in-house
alternative investment products. In her roles, she analyzed
products and developed tax and regulatory efficient structures for
German clients, negotiated joint venture agreements, and launched
structured investment products. Sophie has a BA from Washington
University, two Masters degrees in International Relations and
International Economics from The Fletcher School and HEI in Geneva,
Switzerland.

Adrian Cornwall
Adrian joined in summer 2004, after completing an MSc in
Environmental Technology at Imperial College, in which he
specialised in 'Business & the Environment'. Prior to that he
was a stockbroker, selling Pan-European equities to institutions at
Robert Fleming and JP Morgan. He has a BA in archaeology from
Bristol University.
